About reMEmber

reMEmber has been formed to raise funds to help CFS/ME patients.

We are

  • campaigning for good services for CFS/ME patients. We are members of the reference group for the Sussex wide CFS/ME service and the clinical reference group for the planned service for children and young people. WE have successfully campaigned for this service which was originally based at the Princess Royal Hospital but has now moved to the Haywards Heath Heath Centre with outreach clinics in Portslade and Eastbourne.

    Thanks to our campaigning and our meeting at Hassocks in June 2003 “meet the decision makers” with Howard Flight MP, representatives of Mid Sussex Primary Care Trust, reMEmber and the independent patient groups of Sussex, Mid Sussex Primary Care Trust agreed to commission the service for the whole of Sussex. The service is now based at Burgess Hill.

    Details of the new service have gone out to all Sussex GPs and you may ask your GP to refer you to the new service. Your GP should write a letter of referral to Sussex Wide CFS/ME service, Sidney West Primary Health Care Centre, Leylands Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 8HS. Tel: 01444 238870.

  • Running self-management courses for CFS/ME sufferers - these courses entail a two and a half hour session once a week for six weeks.

  • Improving understanding of the condition by organising seminars for health care professionals, employers, patients, and carers. Giving on going support and information to patients and carers.

The Director was a member of the Chief Medical Officer’s Working Group on CFS/ME which has produced best practice guidance for professionals, patients and carers.
reMEmber will act as a lobbying organisation to ensure that these recommendations are implemented.
